Scholtz Makes History! Season-Concluding MotoAmerica Superbike Win Puts Yamaha On Top With 218 All-Time AMA Superbike Race Victories.

Millville, NJ – October 2, 2026 – Strack Racing Yamaha congratulates its rider Mathew Scholtz on winning the final MotoAmerica Superbike race of the 2026 Championship season and notching Yamaha’s record-breaking 218th AMA-sanctioned Superbike victory. The victory moves Yamaha past Suzuki for most manufacturer wins, appropriately, as the American Motorcyclist Association celebrates “50 Years Of Superbike Racing.” Superbike is a class that was invented right in America, and it then proliferated around the world to become a global phenomenon.

After winning the past two MotoAmerica Supersport Championships in 2024 and 2025 for Strack Racing Yamaha, Scholtz moved back up to Superbike in 2026 and made an immediate impact on MotoAmerica’s premier class.

The South African, who now makes his home in Acworth, Georgia, began his return to Superbike racing by winning three of the first four races on the season, including a double win at Barber Motorsports Park in May.

All told, Scholtz notched five Superbike wins this season to bring his career total to seven Superbike victories on American soil.

“We’re thrilled that our rider Mathew got the Superbike win on Sunday at New Jersey Motorsports Park and put Yamaha on top for most Superbike wins by a manufacturer in AMA history,” said Peter Strack owner of Strack Racing.

“Congratulations to Yamaha for reaching that milestone, and also congratulations to Yamaha’s Bobby Fong for winning the 2026 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.”

Incidentally, Fong’s championship broke a tie with Suzuki that has stood for the past few years, in which Suzuki and Yamaha both held the all-time record with 14 Manufacturer Championships in the Superbike class.

“Fong had a great season, and what an accomplishment for Yamaha, too,” Strack added. “A record-breaking 15 Manufacturer Superbike Championships is very impressive.”

Scholtz commented, “It was awesome to finish the season with a win, and I’m honored to be the rider who put Yamaha on top with the most Superbike race victories in AMA history. Thank you to Yamaha for allowing me to ride for them for the past 10 years, and to win races and championships on their bikes.”

With the 2026 MotoAmerica Championship now completed, Strack Racing is looking forward to announcing its 2027 team in the near future. Stay tuned for breaking news.
