If your interest in mechanical gadgetry spans beyond the world of motorcycles, perhaps you’ll be interested to know that Triumph is teaming up with Swiss watchmaker Breitling, creating the 2023 Speed Twin Breitling Edition.
What, exactly, sets this bike apart? Obviously, Triumph gave the machine the usual special-edition treatment, including “Stylish and distinctive Breitling edition paint scheme, incorporating a unique
polychromatic blue color matched to the original 1951 Triumph Thunderbird color.” You get hand-painted striping, machined billet engine detail, a trick black leather seat, and the speedo/tach gauge faces take their styling cues from Breitling’s watch design.
It’s not all a styling exercise–Triumph also gave the bike a set of Ohlins piggyback shocks in back, fully-adjustable and with gloss black springs.
Triumph will only make 270 of these bikes for the worldwide market, and each bike has an individually-numbered handlebar clamp. They also each come with a certificate of authenticity with signature of Triumph and Breitling’s big bosses. And, when you buy the bike, you also get the opportunity to buy a Breitling Top Time Triumph limited-edition chronograph timepiece.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a release date for that watch yet, or an MSRP, but given Breitling’s position in the industry, suffice to say that it will cost a lot more than your Timex or Casio.
As for the motorcycle, Triumph says it will have an MSRP of $21,000, with availability starting in June.
